The City Paper- Southern C Summit

The City Paper-2014

Last week was  a great one!  I participated in the fourth  Southern Coterie Summit here in Charleston.  I am starting this week with a new pep in my step after such an inspiring week full of conversation and networking with some real deal entrepreneurs (ie. Tara Guerard, Amy Smilovic, Katie Armour, Caitlin Moran, Hannah Seabrook, etc…).  Cheri and Whitney did such a fabulous job once again in organizing such an unforgettable event.  Just wanted to share a little blurb I had in The City Paper here in Charleston about the Summit.  Hope to see some of you there next time!!!

I am so excited to have my art featured in one of my favorite Mount Pleasant, SC interiors shops, Eclectic.  My friend Sidney Wagner is the owner and talented interior designer of this curated shop filled with vintage and new one of a kind finds  for the home.   All you locals or anyone vacationing during the month of March in Charleston, stop by and check out a collection of framed and unframed works I created just for Eclectic.

The English Room

I am thrilled to be featured on The English Room blog this morning!  It’s amazing to me how life comes full circle at times.  I worked for Holly and her mother when I lived in Charlotte thirteen years ago trying to figure out my direction in life.    Holly is such a talented designer and I am so glad to have had the experience with her all of those years ago!  We reconnected last year at The Southern C Summit and I’m so glad we did!!!  Thank you so much for featuring me on your Artist Spotlight series Holly!!!!  Be sure to check out the feature here!

Waterlogue

waterlogue-blog

It’ s been all over Instagram and I’m a little obsessed.  It blows my mind to see a photograph morph into a watercolor painting.  A beautiful one at that.  These pictures are some that I took back in December when the sun was out and the temperature was warm.  Perfect day for a boat day!  I think they turned out pretty cool!  If you haven’t tried the Waterlogue app you should do so now.  I’ve heard they print well too.  That’s next on my to do list.

How we HANG it

how we hang it-blog

I thought it would be fun to show how we style our art.  In particular, some Way Way Allen originals.  So show me how you style it?

Totes

totesGGG-blog

Better come and get ‘em fast!!!  I only have a handful left of these “hand painted made to look like acid wash large totes” left!  $20 a piece people.  Think Spring Break is right around the corner.  Don’t you need something to haul all of your lotions and oils to the beach?!  Contact me via email if you are interested!

Lighting

I am currently on the search for a “big boy”  lamp for my Mr. Big’s  (3 going on 15) “big boy” room.  This is what I have found that I like so far but sort of thinking I need a colorful shade to go with these fun bases?  He has very pale grey walls (BM-Horizon) so thinking  a fun burst of color would do the trick to liven it up a bit?  Once I find the right lamp, I can’t wait to share what my friends Boo and Allison helped me do in there.  Pretty darn cute I must say!!!

I am SO excited the day is finally here!!!!!  I have been working with the design team over at Stitch for months on a new brand/logo/website and I am thrilled to finally be able to share it with you!!!

I now will have my shop, blog and portfolio all in one spot for your viewing pleasure!  In my shop, you will now be able to make direct purchases. I’m hoping this will make it easier for those interested to see all of my available work in one place!

And I have a new blog name-WATIES.  History on this is it’s my given middle name.  My nickname, Way Way, comes from Waties.  It is a family last name that I share with four other generations.  Having only boys, I thought it only appropriate to call this little ole blog ( my third baby) WATIES.

*Pronounced- Way-Tis.  You will be able to reach my blog directly at watiesblog.com

I would love feedback on what you think of the site!!  I am over the moon excited with how it all turned out!
